Biography
Heba Tannous is a Palestinian artist with a background in architecture. She documents and represents urban scenes, experimenting in different mediums to capture the organized chaos of street life. The principal theme in her art style is the intersection between urban morphology and the life of the space.
Her recent Project “The City from Above “is an ongoing art project that explores two interconnected threads. The first focuses on visually representing Palestinian urban fabrics, documenting the interplay between street life and the spatial relationships of masses and voids as seen from above. The second dimension is rooted in the exploration of material, utilizing watercolors on canvas to portray the organized chaos inherent in these scenes. The research explores the Palestinian contemporary identity through its relationship with spaces and objects within this context. By employing a change in scale as a methodology, the project analyzes various Palestinian scenes through alternative perspectives. This approach acknowledges and builds upon the existing art narrative through employing an alternative perspective that explores contemporary palestinian cultural and social practices at different scales.
